Cristiano Toraldo di Francia founded Superstudio in Florence in 1966: the experience will come to mark recent history’s poetics, aesthetics and conceptualisations of architecture and design with works, objects and products that have been the protagonists of some of the most important collections in the world - MoMA, MET, Pompidou Center, Frac and MAXXI. He has taught at many international universities - Cal State, Kent State, Rhode Island, UIA - and has given lectures at the AA, Bartlett, Berlage,Ensa Bretagne, La Villette, Nihon and Syracuse.
In 1992 he and Eduardo Vittoria founded the School of Architecture and Design of the University of Camerino in its Ascoli Piceno branch, where he still teaches today. He is the Director ofthe photographic and digital archive of Superstudio. For the 50th anniversaryof the group’s foundation held in 2016, PAC organised “Supersuperstudio” and MAXXI hosted a large “Superstudio 50” retrospective accompanied by a volume published by Quodlibet. The Exhibition moved to the Power Station of Art inShanghai in 2017 and will be in the FRAC Centre in Orleans in 2019.
